It was a beautiful front row with Bailly and D’Agosto for the start of the prefinal in KF2 for the Nations Cup. Barrabeig and Chamberlain were on the 2nd row, Giovinazzi and King on the 3rd, so we will not get bored at La Conca during the 16 lap race.
Ignazio D’Agosto (Tony Kart / Vortex) crossed the starting line in front, Jordan Chamberlain (Tony Kart / TM) pushed Sébastien Bailly (Kosmic / Vortex) onto the grass, Gerard Barrabeig (Birel / BMB) was in 3rd place ahead of Jacob Nortoft (FA Kart / Vortex) and Bailly. Chamberlain took the lead on lap 2 ahead of Barrabeig and D’Agosto, but Barrabeig captured the lead on the next round when Bailly returned to third from Antonio Giovinazzi (Top Kart / Parilla). Victor Sendin (Tony Kart / Vortex) was 16th, Pascal Belmaaziz (DR / Maxter) 17th and Enzo Guibbert (FA Kart / Vortex) 20th.
Chamberlain resumed command of the race ahead of Giovinazzi, Barrabeig, Nortoft, Bailly and Chris Lock (Tony Kart / Vortex). D’Agosto was 10th in the bunch. There was a fight for 2nd place between Giovinazzi, Nortoft and Barrabeig. Bailly seemed unable to return yet. Giovinazzi closed Chamberlain, while intensifying the fight for 3rd place between Lock, Nortoft, Barrabeig and Basz. Belmaaziz retired. Giovinazzi was on Chamberlains heels but he retained first place. Now Barrabeig was in 3rd position ahead of Basz, Lock, D’Agosto and Bailly. The chasing pack led by Basz closed back on the leading duo.
The Pole dislodged Giovinazzi on the line to finally take 2nd place behind Chamberlain. Barrabeig was 4th, Lock 5th, Bailly 6th and D’Agosto 7th. The French driver Sendin finished 14th, a gain of 6 places. One would imagine that penalties will be distributed, but it remains a matter of anticipation.
